CAS 12108-13-3 Application

1. CAS 12108-13-3 can be used as gas oline anti-riot agent, gas oline scale-up agent, unleaded gas oline antiknock agent, gas oline octane improver, scale-up agent, eutrophic agent, metal magnesium compound .

2. CAS 12108-13-3 is flammable, highly toxic, and decomposes toxic manganese oxide fumes in the fire field.

3. CAS 12108-13-3 was initially used as a supplement to leaded gas oline and later used to increase the octane number of unleaded gas oline.

4. MMT has simple synthesis process, excellent anti-explosion ability, easy to remove combustion deposits, does not block exhaust gas catalytic purifier, has low toxicity and high environmental safety, and can replace tetraethyl  lead as antiknock agent.

The Impact of MMT on Refining Industry

MMT can provide an economical and effective octane number improver for refineries. The use of MMT in unleaded gas oline not only increases the flexibility of gas oline blending in refineries, but also provides other positive benefits. MMT is expected to provide the following benefits to the refining industry:

(1) Increase the flexibility of gas oline blending

MMT enables refineries to have more choices in the production of clean fuels, reduces dependence on high octane number components and increases flexibility in gas oline blending. It is beneficial for refineries to increase the production of high-grade gas oline.

(2)Reduce costs with lower octane

Compared with MTBE, it is an excellent adjustment medium. The octane number gain of 18 mg Mn/L limit concentration MMT in gas oline is equivalent to that of 10% MTBE in gas oline.

(3)Reduce the severity of the reformer

Because MMT improves the octane number of gaso line, refineries are allowed to operate reforming units under lower harsh conditions, so that the capacity of reforming units can be increased and liquid yield can be increased. The liquid yield can be increased by 1% by decreasing the octane number of MON by about 1%.

(4)Reduce the Discharge of Heating Furnace Reduce the Discharge of Heating Furnace

The lower severity of the reformer reduces fuel requirements by about 3%, which correspondingly reduces refinery emissions.

(5)Helps reduce olefin content in gaso line

In catalytic cracking unit, measures to reduce olefin content of gas oline and increase diesel oil yield may reduce octane number. The cost of reducing octane number of gaso line depends on MMT compensation.

(6)Reduce the need for crude  oil

MMT can reduce the refinery's refining degree of crude  oil, improve the yield, reduce energy consumption, and be conducive to refining.

Oil plants optimize the allocation of resources, which saves crude  oil. The use of MMT can reduce the crude  oil requirement by about 1-2%, depending on the concentration of MMT added. In the United States, it is estimated that 82,000 barrels/day of crude  oil will be saved if all gaso line is treated with MMT. It is estimated that more than 5 million tons of gaso line have been imported into MMT in China last year. If MMT is not used, but the same octane number is achieved by technological methods, 200,000 tons of crude  oil will be consumed.
