Dimethylformamide is an organic compound, colorless liquid. Abbreviated as DMF, it is miscible with water and most organic liquids. 

DMF is a commonly used solvent for chemical reactions. 

Dimethylformamide is odorless, but technical grade or degraded samples tend to have a fishy odor due to dimethylamin impurities.
